Excellent! Not sure about anyone else, but I found the lack of punctuation almost easier to read, but I read it really fast. My reading voice in my head didn't have a chance to take a breath! Haha
Nice work. So simple.
the truth (as i seen it) according to jehovah's witnesses.
written by gary busselman wednesday, 22 october 2008 14:38. warning: this is not for little jw children!
you will not find it in "my book of babble stories.

i was raised as a jw, baptized in a 1998 district convention, somewhere in portugal.. studying with jws had some positive things (not many... just a few).
i learned to read before going to school and developed this excelent skill of reading, interpreting and resuming texts.
i was an excellent student.. as a teenager my life sucked (and i considered it a "privilege" at that time) because i simply couldn't enjoy these best years of my life, because had to avoid all contact with people of my age (there were no young people in my congregation) so i lived the best years of my life as a "forever alone".
Welcome Jamir! Many people on here (myself included) are going through EXACTLY what you are right now, and many more have been there. You will find lots of good advice on here.
I hope the best for you and your wife, she sounds like she has potential. Dont forget to try and see the situation from her eyes when talking to her, that's the best thing I can tell you. That and read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz. You won't doubt anymore.
Hang in there, PM me anytime.

what attracts new ones into the jw fold these days, the message, the friends, someone to listen to their problems, a personal relationship with god?
what?.
It doesn't.

it's a moment of clarity, a defining moment where you gain real wisdom - wisdom you can use to change your life.".

IE9 sucks... Or is it the JWN programming? Seems kind of old school..
Anyway, my empty post was about giving some attention to the things that always bothered me, or I flat out couldnt believe. Some life events pushed me to look into things further, questioning everything I KNEW.
The big ones though were the baseless blood doctrine, salvation by works, and other things that aren't in the bible. I always had a hard time taking the word and direction of MEN, especially when they are often wrong. After actually TRYING to prove the 607/1914 thing to myself, the house of cards fell in spectacular fashion. It hurt. I felt betrayed, as most of us on here can attest to.
i'm hoping to produce a new new world translation of the bible and if you have any ideas i would appreciate your contributions.
the format is thus:-.
1. the book, chapter and verse.. 2. the king james version (authorised version) of the above in full.

this is one that i've been struggling with since i started hanging out here.
when you get on a thread and quote a scripture with a comment to make a point, the believers who have never been jw's often knee jerk reaction jump all over it, and in essensce say that you cannot understand the passage because you are not a believer like them.. it's as if they are saying what is written and what you have learned about certain passages are automatically wrong just because you were taught from a jw perspective, or that you lack basic reading comprehension.
i agree many of the jw teachings are off, but i can certainly respect more of their interpretations of scriptures than i can of other christian denominations.
NewChapter - The picking and choosing endless. Well don't look at THAT because we don't hold it valid. Look at THIS because we know Jesus, and we know THAT is what he meant while disregarding the rest.
And we all sat there and listened to exactly that for decades! And swallowed it whole. Very well said.
so i thought ill check to see how "strong" the things are i believe in.
im still hooked to allot of the wts's teachings, and i still believe in allot of them , even thought i have enough questions of my own to start my own bible school.. so what would you ask me as a "witness" now, so i can try and defend my faith and by doing so, that i might learn something about myself, and what i believe in..
The only thing that points to the JWs as God's "chosen organization" is what? Their OWN list of criteria! Which happen to me written about them.
Ike others have said, it is a house of cards. Find which one (any one) that falls for you, and the whole things comes down. Be it 607, the impossible Genesis account, 1914... You name it. Just look.
Also, learn how to read the bible and put scriptures in CONTEXT. Something that is rarely done in a KH or WT article. Then read the main supporting scriptures for certain doctrines in context. It will open your eyes!
Good luck on your search for answers
i am feeling rather lazy.
has anyone got the answers for the oral review for this week?
and although i love the personal comments, i do not think my family would enjoy them, so does anyone have the clean cut answers?.
I have them. I would cut and paste, but WAY too much text. And it might make some on here vomit. PM your email, I will forward it
is the obedience the fds expects from jws the same obedience that jw wives owe their jw husbands?.
if yes, would this mean that a jw wife should submit to any medical direction that came from her husband, even if the consequences were serious?
would this mean that it would be right for a jw husband to tell his wife if blood fractions, organ transplant, etc.
At least when we were getting guidance how to fill the bloody card, it was clearly stated that all the choices you put there are totally personal and family, witness, emergency person should not get involved in that part.

Isnt it interesting how this changes when it suits them? It just basically removes the WTS from any legal responsibility when someone dies from refusing a perfectly reasonable and safe treatment.
Of ourselves, wife's "spiritual safety" supersedes the headship principle. It depends on which side of their mouth it comes from.
